When it comes to New Balance collaborations, Salehe Bembury is certainly no stranger to them. Over the past few months, the New York City-based fashion icon has offered his own take on both the 2002R and the 574 YURT, and now, he's adding yet another NB silhouette into the mix with the Salehe Bembury x New Balance 990v2. Dubbed "Sand Be The Time," this pastel pink pair acts as sort of a sequel to the 2002R "Water Be The Guide" which sold out almost instantly when it released last Summer.
Working on top of a peachy mesh base, Bembury's rendition of the 990v2 is overlaid with soft pink suede throughout. Fleecy purple tones take over the lateral and medial "N" branding for added depth, and underfoot, you'll find a complementary ABZORB midsole that's as comfortable as it gets. Supple nubuck adorns the tongue, and to round it all off, the American creative's signature fingerprint-inspired aesthetic decorates the heel, finalizing the simple yet striking design.
Coming in a special edition shoebox and a set of extra laces, the Salehe Bembury x New Balance 990v2 "Sand Be The Time" is set to drop at the end of 2022 or the beginning of 2023.
