What was the moment you first got drawn to sneakers, and which pair of sneakers triggered your passion?

My sneaker love started at a young age and I want to say the AF1s were my first love. I can never forget getting a new pair when the old ones got dirty. Also, I used to customize mine and get them airbrushed.

What are some of your observations or personal stories when it comes to collecting kicks?

Collecting sneakers isn’t new to me because I started back in high school. Back then, the process of gaining a win was so much simpler. We didn’t have the internet (it was dial-up back then), so knowing when the new kicks came out mainly was word of mouth, magazines, or if you had a hookup. My friends and I would have to wake up early on a Saturday and somebody's mom would drive us to the nearest shoe store (footlocker, warehouse shoe store, foot action) then waited in the line before the store opened.

If you got there early, you knew you were going to win. But, if you got there late you prayed the people in front of you didn’t wear your size. This process was so much enjoyable! It different nowadays where you have to battle everyone in the world for a pair of kicks and there is no real logical plan to guarantee a pair.

I saw you often do sneaker paintings. How do you find some inspiration? Feel free to share photos of your work!

Painting and creating is an internal feeling. I definitely have to be in the mood. I have to be in a creative head space where I’ve been thinking of an idea or if I'm feeling overwhelmed and need something relaxing to ease my mind.

I am a mother of four, so there is never “free time” to just paint or create. I usually create early mornings before all the babies are awake or late at night when everyone is asleep.

What are some of the current pairs of sneakers in your rotation?

Right now, my go-to are black/white Nike Low Dunk Nature, High Top Mocha Jordan 1s, Nike High Dunks Ambush Flash Lime, and Nike Blazer High Jumbo.

Can you please describe how it feels to you when you get and wear a new pair of kicks?

Freaking awesome lol. A new pair of sneakers is like Christmas morning, and you open your box of presents. You’re excited. It’s an instant rewarding feeling.

What is one sneaker collaboration that doesn’t exist, but you wish/think should exist?

Tough question, If I could pick anyone, I would say myself. There are a lot of great collaborations. I would love to one day work with Nike to create something.

What are some of your favourite creators/designers or brands and why?

You can’t go wrong with a pair of Nikes! They are stylish, long-lasting, and have the best collaborations. Their pieces are a staple, and when time past, they turn vintage.

What is your ultimate holy grail sneaker that you have not managed to acquire so far?

Chicago High Top Jordan 1s. These are classics. If I ever get a pair, I would die lol.

Other than kicks, what are some of your daily essentials or treasured items?

Other than sneakers, I love graphic tees and creating new artwork.

Where can people find you on social media?
