In 2009, I went to America and I was introduced to the sneaker culture as well as fantastic stores there. I remember getting a pair of 2008 Air Max 90 Infrared and I was like, this is a new underground scene I never knew about. Then, I came home, bought a pair of 2009 Air Max 1 Sport Red, and I got hooked. More than twelve years later, I had 80 to 100 pairs in my collection, and I have never turned back.
I grew up in the music scene and toured with punk hardcore bands. I have always loved musical collabs like Glassjaw, Wu-Tang, Iron Maiden, and Deftones. So I like it when sneakers collaborate with musicians.
I felt scared and worried about scuffing the shoes back in the day. But now, I like the feeling of rolling through places with fire on my feet, knowing I worked hard to get and rock the shoe.
I'm looking up to Jerry Lorenzo - Fear of God. He is just a smooth and solid designer who gives so much back to the culture as well as the African-American community. And, of course, Virgil Abloh, RIP, was just so far ahead of his time it was ridiculous.
I believe that there would be a Tesla collab soon. I reckon that is an upgrade to the Back to the Future self-lacers.
My top picks are Jordan 4 Fire Red, Jordan 3 Katrina, Jordan 1 Mid Chicago Toe, and Nike Air Fear of God Raid 'Light Bone.
Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG 'Shattered Backboard 3.0 is my ultimate holy grail.
Other than my sneakers, I don't really have any other treasured items or hype products. I keep it simple.
