COMME des GARÇONS and Converse have been working together for well over a decade now, and just when you thought that you've seen it all, the Rei Kawakubo-helmed label reveals the COMME des GARÇONS x Converse Pro Leather. Taking on the classic basketball shoe for the first time ever, CDG's rendition is simple and clean, with just the right amount of playfulness injected into its DNA.
Painted in a "Triple White" color palette, this Pro Leather is outfitted in smooth leather throughout. The brand's star logo is stitched across the lateral and medial sidewalls, and as this is dropping as part of CDG's PLAY subdivision, the heart character peeks out from the toebox for a look that is sure to turn heads. All of this sits on top of a pristine rubber midsole which has stayed almost exactly the same since the hardcourt model made its debut in 1976. If it ain't broke, don't fix it, right?
The COMME des GARÇONS x Converse Pro Leather is set to drop on May 5th and is expected to sell out pretty quickly. Let us know what you think of this collaboration, and in other sneaker news, the thisisneverthat x New Balance 550 is finally in the works!
