Fresh out of the womb, my parents had me in the latest Jordans. I'll never forget all my childhood days rocking kicks and trying to ensure I didn't get my shoes dirty. My passion for sneakers was triggered from day one, but my first pair were the OG Air Jordan 5 Black Metallic.
I've been collecting for over 15 years and have seen and experienced so many different styles of shoes. I've noticed that most real collectors have a story behind their sneakers - how they got or what they mean to them. Like the Doernbecher collection, there are about 10+ different Jordans that have come out over the years. But it's always fun trying to get the new one each year or going back and tracking down shoes that you might have missed from previous releases. This brings on the other dope part about collecting - "THE HUNT."
Sometimes it's more fun trying to track down a shoe or making trades to get to a grail than just being able to buy a shoe with ease. I'll never forget my hunt for my Black Laser Air Jordan 4. I had to trade three different times and wait for over five years to be able to get that shoe in my collection finally.
I love rocking a new pair of shoes. I still get that same feeling as I did when I was 16. I lace up my kicks, check myself in the mirror, and see if the shoes fit my outfit. Then when I'm happy with the look l, it's time to hit the streets and let the people see my new kicks. It's just funny because when I rock a new Radon Trainer shoe, I get way more compliments from strangers than if I have on some hype release that sneakerheads know.
I get more inspired by my friends than anything, and I typically rock my and their clothes. But if there was one brand, it would be Nike. I'm into sweatshirts and comfy clothes as I've been an athlete my entire life. But I support my people more than anything because I know how valuable it is when people see me in it on my YouTube or other social networks.
I'd love to see the DNA SHOW x Air Jordan. I'm also trying to collaborate with the Jordan brand, and I'd prefer it to be with the 1, 3, 6, or 11.
My shoe rotation is heavy on the (bred, Chicago, Royal, UNC, shadow, Black Toe & Storm Blue). I love rocking the classic colorways, so you can also catch me in Black Cement 3s or Infrared 6s (my favorite shoe of all time). Other kicks would be the Travis 4s, Lightning 4s, A Ma 1s, Neutral Gray 1s, DB 3s, and I won't mention all my Prestos! On average, I usually rock about 20 different shoes in my main rotation and then cycle through accordingly, depending on the time of the year.
Honestly, I've copped it all. At this point, I just have fun and grab kicks as I go. I know everyone loves the Air MAG and calls that the holy grail. I like them, but I've gotten better samples and PEs for better prices. I low-key feel like I'm obligated to have them because that's what everyone expects, but that's just a shoe I'll get when I get it, not in a crazy rush.
I'm pretty simple when it comes to daily essentials. I need my glasses so I can see. My phone so I can make money and create content. I also need my wedding ring so I can always remind myself about my faith and love for God and my wife. My treasured items are quite bigger. I have three houses and am on my way to buying my forth. I love real estate and cars, so maybe I'd say my Corvette and Tesla.
