The Air Jordan 4 "Thunder" comeback is set to be one of 2023's hottest sneakers, and there's really no questioning why. A retro colorway that first dropped in 2006 (and then again in 2012), it's set to re-release once again in the iconic "Black" and "Tour Yellow" combination. Outfitted in buttery suede throughout, netting paneling across the lateral and medial sides offer added ventilation, while rubber elements give the shoe that rugged look and feel that we all know and love.
Honestly, it was quite hard to choose which Samba Humanrace colorway was our favorite, but to us, the Pharrell x adidas Samba Humanrace "Green" is the one that stands out the most. Part of the 'Colors Pack,' Skateboard P's take on the '40s model is dipped in lush green color scheme and is constructed from suede and leather. Even the laces are as premium as they come, opting for a genuine rawhide instead of the conventional woven cotton that we're all accustomed to.
To celebrate Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month (or AAPI Heritage Month, for short), Nike has introduced the Nike Dunk High "Gold Mountain." Inspired by the California Gold Rush that led many people from China to immigrate to San Francisco, this special colorway tells a story of determination, perseverance, and leaving everything behind to live a better life. It's equipped with an icy blue outsole as a nod to the oceans that many people had to travel across just to set to the US during this time in history.
Grey Day has become something of an annual tradition for New Balance, and 2023's New Balance 550 "Grey Day" has got to be one of their best releases yet. Falling in line with the ever-popular, yet controversial, pre-aged sneaker trend, this 550 boasts a weather suede and leather construction that looks like something taken straight from within the archives. Even the "N" logo has been subtly cracked for that vintage vibe.
And last but certainly not least, we have the Jarritos x Nike SB Dunk Low "Phantom." Made in collaboration with the Mexican soft drinks brand, this sneaker features a hemp construction that tears away over time, revealing a bold base layer that represents some of their most popular flavors. Co-branded detailing decorates the heels, and all of this comes in a cream SB box which kicks off a new era of the skateboarding sub-brand.
