Edsell Losloso - Filipino Freelance Photographer Interview

What was the moment you first got drawn to sneakers, and which pair of sneakers triggered your passion?

Those times were during the era of skateboarding; I was a kid and admired people skateboarding. It was Chuck Taylor and Vans that triggered my shoe obsession ever since. I wish I still have photos wearing my first pair, though.

What’s one moment or trend in the history of sneaker culture that resonates with you?

Currently, I think it's the Dunks itself. I already had a couple of Nike Dunks, and I know how people loved them!

The different kinds of colorways portray people's personalities, and it's cool that even big people wear them.

Please describe how it feels to you when you get and wear a new pair of kicks?

Of course, with the sweat and blood, you made while working, I think everyone deserves to get that pair you are eyeing for.

I just got my new pair of Nike Dunk Low black and white (retro 2022), and it feels awesome! With pride in working hard, to get one is an achievement.

What are some of your favorite creators/designers or brands and why?

Honestly, I love all of them, and I wish I could have them all!

Haha, kidding aside, I mainly adore Nike, Adidas, Balenciaga, Converse, and New Balance.

What is one sneaker collaboration that doesn’t exist, but you wish/think should exist?

I will go with unrated brands paired with big names! Like why not? Helping and sharing is a success!

What are some of the current pairs of sneakers in your rotation?

Right now, it is my Adidas Stan Smith. I mean, you will never go wrong wearing white sneakers in any situation and event. Even if it is a simple or grand one, Stan Smith was always there for me, even when I was in a lazy mode of thinking.

I actually have three pairs from my junior high, college, and just last year, I got a new one.

What is your ultimate holy grail sneaker that you have not managed to acquire so far?

The Yeezys and Dunk x Travis Scott, I need them in my life. In size 11, please!!

Other than kicks, what are some of your daily essentials or treasured items?

FYI, I am a freelance photographer. Cameras, lenses, and accessories made me poor, HAHA.
