Back in 2019, Travis Scott changed the fabric of the sneakerverse with the release of the Travis Scott x Air Jordan 1 High "Dark Mocha." Beautifully combining the Houston rapper's signature earthy color palette with one of the most iconic basketball sneakers in history, the result was a truly breathtaking collaboration. Two years later, La Flame teamed up with the godfather of streetwear, Hiroshi Fujiwara, for the fragment design x Travis Scott x Air Jordan 1 High, and if these new rumors are true, a third colorway could be coming up around the corner with the Travis Scott x Air Jordan 1 "Chicago" - and we're taking our first look yet!
Images courtesy of sneaker insider @ready2cop, the alleged "Chicago" pays homage to the original AJ 1 release that Michael Jordan wore back in 1985. Colorblocked in the same style as the aforementioned fragment pair, these Jordans boast a white pebbled leather construction that's luxurious to the touch. Bold red panels wrap around the toe box, heel, and ankle, where you'll also find the legendary winged basketball in full view.
Down below, the Nike Air midsole has been given a pre-aged look for a vintage vibe, and of course, it wouldn't be a Jordan 1 by Travis Scott without the reverse Swoosh across the lateral side panel. All of this comes with a set of three other laces, and comes packed in a special edition shoebox that's definitely one for the collectors out there.
While not much else is known about the Travis Scott x Air Jordan 1 High"Chicago" at this moment in time, if the rumors are true, this will no doubt be one of the hottest sneaker collaborations ever made. Since Scott seems to release a new AJ 1 High every two years, we can only assume that this pair will release sometime in 2023. Make sure you keep it locked at Ox Street for more news as it comes through, and if you want to check out other Travis Scott x Nike releases, we've got your back.
