Without a shadow of a doubt, the "Protection Pack" has been one of the most popular New Balance collections of the past few years. The brainchild of Chinese sneaker designer Yue Wu, some of our favorite colorways include the "Phantom," "Sea Salt," "Vintage Orange," and of course, the iconic "Rain Cloud" which continues to be the holy grail for many footwear fans out there. With that said, it looks like another essential pair could be coming soon, and we're getting up close and personal.
Dubbed the New Balance 2002R Protection Pack "Black," this never-before-seen 2002R works on top of a stealthy mesh base with light gray elements throughout. Jagged suede panels wrap around the rest of the upper, while the legendary "N" logo along the laterals and medials is done up in a smooth matte leather. Underfoot, the ABZORB and N-ERGY midsole is dipped in white, while brownish-gray accents make their way across the board for a seriously vintage vibe.
Expected to release within the coming months, if you want the New Balance 2002R Protection Pack "Black" in your collection, make sure you keep it locked at Ox Street for your best chance to cop. Also, while you're here, let us know what your favorite "Protection Pack" colorway is!
