This year marks the PUMA Clyde's 50th anniversary, and after dropping a vast range of coveted collaborations, the German sportswear company is now turning to iconic Japanese illustrator Hajime Sorayama to celebrate the major milestone. Spotted during the opening of his latest "Space Traveler" exhibition held at NANZUKA UNDERGROUND, NANZUKA 2G, and 3110NZ by LDH Kitchen in Tokyo, the Hajime Sorayama x PUMA Clyde gives the classic silhouette a contemporary makeover.
Inspired by the Imabari-born contemporary artist's Sexy Robot, the Clyde features a leather and suede base and is completely covered in a shiny metallic silver finish for a futuristic vibe. Beige flat laces tie everything together, and this neutral hue extends towards the collar and sockliner of the shoe. "PUMA" is stamped across each of the tongues in Sorayama's signature cyborg-like font, and all of this sits atop a pair of all-white rubber midsoles which can still dominate the hardcourt even after five decades.
The Hajime Sorayama x PUMA Clyde is expected to drop during the Fall/Winter 2023 season. Keep it locked right here for everything that you need to know, and in related news, Rhuigi's PUMA Suede "B-Boy" celebrates 50 years of hip-hop.
