What was the moment you first got drawn to sneakers, and which pair of sneakers triggered your passion?

I first got drawn to sneakers through my husband who is also a sneakerhead. I’ve always loved a good pair of sneakers, but after getting my first pair of Jordan 1s and Yeezys I fell in love and just wanted more pairs. It really started from my Jordan 1 Mid Chicagos, you can’t go wrong with Chicagos!

What’s one moment or trend in the history of sneaker culture that resonates with you?

I think the moment you realize that a good pair of sneakers can uplift any outfit. It can totally change a basic outfit into a fly fit.

I think finally being able to afford and get the sneakers I’ve always wanted as a kid really resonated with me too. I think it’s the reason why a lot of us end up becoming sneakerheads. I used to always want a good pair of Nikes, but it was my first encounter with the Yeezy Adidas trend that really got me.

I remember almost getting a pair of the Yeezy 350 Moonrocks, I got an order confirmation and then the order was canceled, the heartbreak was intense! After that, I really enjoyed the Yeezy trend. My love for sneakers fizzled out for a while until I got married and my husband reminded me of my love for sneakers!

Please describe how it feels to you when you get and wear a new pair of kicks?

Pretty euphoric. The fresh leather, the smell of the shoe, and the clean finish. I always feel like I have the best kicks in the room. Sometimes I get so excited I want to save them for an occasion and then sometimes I’m excited I’ll wear them instantly.

What are some of your favorite creators/designers or brands and why?

I know I’ve started out favoring Nike and Yeezy the most but recently I’ve started to like a few other brands too. New Balance is releasing some fire shoes recently and I don’t mind a good solid pair of Reeboks.

I love Nike and Yeezy for their creativity. I know some people won’t agree that they’re creative because they keep releasing the same shoe in different colorways, but that’s something I’ve always wanted! When I like one style, I’ll buy it in a million colorways, so I feel like it’s always easier to switch up my outfits but keep a similar vibe going.

What is one sneaker collaboration that doesn’t exist, but you wish/think should exist?

Oh, this is a tough one. Kith X Jordan would be awesome. I love the colors and simplicity from Kith and that mixed with the silhouette of a sneaker-like a Jordan 1 would be clean!

What are some of the current pairs of sneakers in your rotation?

Oh man, I love a good pair of Yeezy 500s, they are super comfortable! I’m totally enjoying my Jordan 1 lows, especially the Bronze Eclipse because we’re just coming out of the Autumn/Winter season. I also love my Light Bone Dunks, they are so versatile. My Archeo Pink Dunks are in my rotation for brighter days or when I want my outfit to pop.

What is your ultimate holy grail sneaker that you have not managed to acquire so far?

Jordan 4 University Blue, they are so hard to get a hold of.‍

Other than kicks, what are some of your daily essentials or treasured items?‍

I love a good hoodie, it’s one of my go-to items in an outfit. I definitely also have to have a nice perfume on, I currently love the Givenchy L’interdit Eu de Parfum.‍
