I was in the third grade when got drawn to sneakers. A lot of skateboard brands were very popular back in 2008, and the pair that triggered my passion was the Zoo York men's skate shoe! I remember it was my dad who bought them for me as a gift.
Below is an old photo of me wearing them back in 2010. This skate shoe from Zoo York made me fall in love with sneakers! I think I need to repurchase a new pair!
The recent trend of New Balance resonates with me the most because years ago, I had a couple of pairs of New Balances already, and a lot of people never liked them. I was the "odd" one out!
I had the 574 model in the red colorway, and I loved that pair so much. It was my favorite New Balance pair before. I feel happy now that many people are getting into New Balance because it is finally getting the recognition they deserve.
The feeling of getting and wearing new pairs of sneakers is very similar to receiving gifts during Christmas as a child. I love the feeling so much. It never gets old!
What more receiving sneakers that you want as gifts in your size! Haha!
Some of my favorite designers are Virgil Abloh and Teddy Santis. I love their creativity and their passion for fashion and sneakers. What they did/do for the community will go down in history as one of the best to ever do it.
Some of my favorite brands are Nike, Jordan, New Balance, and Uniqlo. These brands are a staple in my wardrobe. Moreover, the Air Jordan 1 High is my favorite sneaker silhouette of all time. This is what takes up most of my sneaker collection. I love the design and history behind the Air Jordan 1 High. That's why I love collecting it!
Additionally, New Balance is my favorite sneaker for comfort and style. You can never go wrong with a pair of 990 v3s, v4s, 2002Rs, 550s, and even the 1906Rs! I promise you that you will love them once you wear them.
As for clothes, Uniqlo is my go-to store for shopping for versatile clothing. I really love their bottoms and their outerwear. It makes me feel good and confident. It's also easy to mix and match their clothes as well!
Honestly, I would have loved seeing an Off-White x New Balance collaboration. I don't know what it'll look like, but I trust that these brands will get creative with it without being too wild or out of touch.
Unfortunately, this collaboration might not happen because Virgil Abloh passed away last 2021. It would have been amazing to see Virgil Abloh's creative touch on New Balance sneakers 🥺
I currently have around more or less 50 pairs of sneakers in my collection.
Still, some notable pairs to mention are the Jordan 1 Off-White Chicago, Nike SB Dunk Purple Lobster, Jordan 1 High Chicago 2015, Jordan 1 High Reverse Shattered Backboard, New Balance x JJJJound 990v3 Olive, New Balance x Stussy 990v4, and the Nike Blazer Mid Off White "The Ten."
The ultimate holy grail sneaker I have yet to acquire is the Air Yeezy 2 Red October. I need them in size 11, and they must be complete. I have other holy grails that I want, but these are on top of the list.
Other than sneakers, some of my daily essentials or treasured items are my VAULV Essential 012, VAULV Essential 006, VAULV Duffle 015, and VAULV Duffle 022!
