At the end of 2021, Nigo was appointed the new Artistic Director of KENZO. One of the most storied Japanese fashion houses in history, the BAPE founder knew that he had to go all-out with his first sneaker collection, and that's exactly what he set out to do with the freshly-revealed KENZO-DOME. Revealed in four colorways, the silhouette was destined for both the runway and the halfpipe.
Boasting a buttery suede construction throughout, the KENZO-DOME bears a striking resemblance to the Air Force 1 or the Dunk. In fact, it actually gets its name from the DÔME, a skate spot located on the grounds of the Palais de Tokyo building in Paris. Perforations feature across the toebox for added ventilation, while the midsole is housed within a full gum rubber unit for unrivalled traction and grip with every step. Each shoe is then finished off with KENZO branding on the tongues, finalizing the designs.
Set to drop very soon, let us know what you think of the KENZO-DOME, and while you're here, you might as well take a sneak peek at the new BAPE CLUTCH STA silhouette!
