ASICS' all-new GEL-Sonoma 15-50 is quickly becoming one of the Japanese sportswear company's most popular silhouettes. Thanks to partnerships from the likes of Andersson Bell and A.P.C., the running shoe has slowly but surely made its way to collections across the world over the past couple of months, and now, we're taking our first look at another coveted collaboration in the form of the Matin Kim x ASICS GEL-Sonoma 15-50 "Tracing Ego" Pack. Teaming up with the South Korean label for the very first time, here's everything that we know so far.
Created with the question "What shoes should I look for when I go on a journey to find my own ego?" in mind, this collection fully takes advantage of the model's track-ready aesthetic, but infuses it with some rugged elements that gorpcore fans will definitely appreciate. Working on top of a nylon base, it's overlaid by premium leather panels throughout. A toggle switch setup replaces the usual lacing system for a more outdoorsy vibe, and all of this sits on top of an extra chunky GEL midsole that's as comfortable as it gets.
Unveiled in three colorways including white, black, and silver, the trio are all accented with contrasting tones for a look that is sure to turn heads wherever you go. To round it all off, co-branded detailing decorates each of the tongues, as well as the custom insoles within.
The Matin Kim x ASICS GEL-Sonoma 15-50 "Tracing Ego" Pack is set to drop on March 15th in Asia, and will be available in limited numbers. If you want a pair in your rotation this season, keep it locked at Ox Street's dedicated GEL-Sonoma page for your best chance to secure your size, and in related news, UNAFFECTED recently took on the ASICS GEL-Kayano 14.
