I've always been a sneakerhead ever since I was young. Growing up, I repeatedly watched Nice Kicks' Sneak Peek episodes. One episode that really got me more into sneakers was Perfect Pair's collection video. In that video, I was fascinated when he explained each story of his sneakers and the difference between exclusive pairs, sample pairs, and general release pairs. Little details, such as a small tongue patch, can signify the sneaker's rarity.
The sneaker that triggered my passion was when I saw the Air Yeezy 2 Red Octobers. I would say they are one of the most iconic sneakers of all time! I love how much thought has been put into it, from the dust bag, velcro strap, replaceable aglets, and lace locks. To this day, the Air Yeezy 2 Red Octobers is one of the holy grails I wish to attain.
I think the rise of Nike dunks. I remember when the dunks were just sitting in stores because everyone was busy buying Jordan Retros. But now it's the other way around; most retros are sitting on shelves, and dunks are selling out quickly!
When celebrities started wearing Nike dunks, and Nike started releasing GR pairs like Kentucky and Syracuse, I think that's when the hype and prices started going up. Sneakerheads and resellers would camp outside the stores 1-2 days before the initial release, which is crazy!
Every time I buy a pair of sneakers, I feel really excited; the first thing that comes to mind is how I will pair them with my outfits. I'm going to be honest, when I buy a fresh pair, I let them sit for a while until it's time to wear them.
Some sneakers I've bought have been sitting in the box for a year or two; I usually would only wear them if it's going to be a special day or when I need to post them on social media. After I've worn them once, they become part of my sneaker rotation. I think the concept of wearing them for the first time on a special occasion just adds a little story behind the sneaker.
Recently, I've been into Stepney Worker Club. The first time I saw them on TikTok, I knew I had to get myself a pair. They're just so unique, and the quality is 100% on point. The shoe has a luxurious touch and is also very affordable. I like to support smaller brands from time to time; I think they deserve all the recognition, love, and support for dedicating themselves to their product; for that, local and younger brands deserve all my respect.
I wish Kanye and Jordan could work together and design a shoe that will be remembered for generations. I want the sneaker to impact the sneaker/streetwear community as Air Yeezy 2 Red Octobers and Air Mags!
My sneaker collection is mostly made up of Jordans and Nikes. I try to switch up sneaker rotation as much as possible. At the moment, my sneaker rotation consists of Jordan 4 Union' Guava Ice,' Jordan 1 'Storm Blue,' Nike Dunk Low' Michigan State,' Yeezy 500 'Blush,' New Balance 550 'White Grey,' Yeezy Foam Runners 'Sand,' and Stepney Workers Club Dellow S-Strike Grey & White.
That will be the Off-White Jordan 4 'SAIL'! That shoe, in my opinion, is the best off-white sneaker; the look, color, and details are hands down the best sneaker of 2020! I love how this pair can be worn with basically anything.
Definitely, my Solo Uno everyday hoodie; they're just so cozy and easy to wear. Secondly, my Casio A168WGG-1BDF watch, this watch just fits perfectly with any fits I wear. Last but not least, my Christian Dior signature card holder was gifted to me by my brothers. I appreciate my brothers so much.
