I’ve been skating for 19 years, it all started in 2002. I guess my sense of fashion revolves around skateboarding culture. And even when I started out, I loved collecting skate shoes specifically. The fact that I tend to wreck all my skate shoes with a month or two, resulted in me buying sneakers constantly. I guess that is where my sneaker collecting habit came from.
Alot to choose from actually.. haha.. As of now, my favourites are the Dunk SB SBTG.
I guess its the whole uniqueness of the sneaker. I love the tongue cover which makes the shoes stands out. The minimal color and the camo makes it easier for me to match with any outfit..
To me personally, I dont go for the hyped and newer models. I mostly collect sneakers that were released during my time growing up as a skateboarder. Collecting those sneakers brings back the old nostalgic feeling and the memories growing up as a skateboarder. Having those sneakers does remind me of certain phases in my life. For example, landing my first kickflip in the P-Rod Zoom Air 1. There’s alot of memories growing up and to me, collecting those sneakers unique to a particular era always reminded me of the good old times.
Well this may be odd, but my daily sense of style would be choosing the sneakers that I would want to wear on that day and then figuring out the outfit that matches those sneakers. So, my sneakers first then the outfit. My outfit would be very minimal and plain, it could be just a plain T-shirt or hoodie and shorts. I let my sneakers speaks for themselves and make sure the outfit allows them to shine.
