What was the moment you first got drawn to sneakers, and which pair of sneakers triggered your passion?

My love for sneakers started when I was a teenager. I got fascinated by skateboard culture and skaters wearing some cool sneakers like Vans Authentic or Nike Dunks. These two have had the biggest impact on me ever since!

What’s one moment or trend in the history of sneaker culture that resonates with you?

When it comes to the trends, only one thing comes to my mind: vintage. It is great that it is in vogue now and brands bring back vintage/OG models. I’m always happy to see something like Jordan 1 x Nigel Sylvester, AJ1 x Union LA or new Nike Dunk Vintage Green with a sail midsole.

Please describe how it feels to you when you get and wear a new pair of kicks?

A new pair of sneakers for me is like a kid getting a new toy to play with. I love UNDS sneakers whenever I buy something new, it literally gives me goosebumps and I constantly check for any scuffs whenever I wear something new!

What are some of your favorite creators/designers or brands and why?

Some of my favourite brands are Carhartt Wip, Stussy and (obviously) Nike. Carhartt’s products are amazing despite their retail prices, they will last a lifetime. There’s something about Stussy that makes me go crazy for their pieces. This Californian vibe is on a whole different level when it comes to designs.

What is one sneaker collaboration that doesn’t exist, but you wish/think should exist?

I'm very curious how the Nike x Arc'teryx collaboration would look like. This outdoor brand has been gaining a great deal of hype around it recently and it is literally everywhere. I’d love to see a collaboration between these two for sure.

What are some of the current pairs of sneakers in your rotation?

In my current rotation you could always find some  AJ 1s, 4s and SB Dunks. Most of them are leather based as it is not only my preferred material, but it is also really easy to clean if I get some scuffs around. My pair to go are AJ 1 Shadows as they are easiest to style with.

However, when it comes to comfort, I’d have to go with AJ 4s (White Cements and White Oreo). When it comes to Dunks, I usually wear Low Chicagos or Safari.

What is your ultimate holy grail sneaker that you have not managed to acquire so far?

Out of all my grails, it would have to be Air Jordan 1 x Nigel Sylvester for me for sure. It is incredibly hard to find them for a decent price and not to mention, my size. This pair has been designed to mimic those marks with hand-made distressing on a discolored sail upper. This is a really great project!

‍Other than kicks, what are some of your daily essentials or treasured items?

I wear beanies most of the year.  I have a small collection of headwear - beanies and bucket hats. They’re mainly from Carhartt, Kangol and Arc’Tex. I can’t imagine leaving the house without a beanie when it's chilly outside.
