It started in 2019 while I was in my first retail job at Foot Locker. I saw the re-release of the Nike Airmax 1 OG "Sport Red." I was 19 at that time.
The days of Staple x Nike SB Dunk Staple Pigeon - a shoe apart from being iconic in the sneaker culture and streetwear culture in general, was when streetwear was raw and had heavy illustrations. Jeff Staple, Bobby and Ben Hundreds, Nicky Diamonds, and Benny Gold inspired me. This whole era flipped a switch in me to push myself to make a mark in the industry.
I was always excited and a little nervous about whether it would fit the rest of my wardrobe.
I admire the designers Yohji Yamamoto and Rei Kawakubo. The way they can create texture with predominantly black fabric and maintain the right balance is an art.
I would love to see a Puma x Adidas (Adidas Shell Toe and Puma Suede in one) collaboration. But yes, I know that this will never happen.
My current weekly favorite pairs are the Nike Dunks, Air Jordan 1 Royal, Doc Martens x Pleasures, and Adidas x Raf Simons Ozweego.
I hoped to own a pair of Nike Mag 'Back to the Future.'
My daily essentials include a fabric-bound drawing note pad, gel tip ballpoint pen, earphones (currently air pods), and Aether Care antibacterial spray 'Cedarwood.'
