Could you share a bit about your secret origin story? (Tell us a bit about yourself, how did you start loving sneakers, what you do/hobbies etc.)

My name is Hans, and I’m co-founder of Madecurate, which is really just a group of guys that loves and sometimes sells expensive sneakers. The love for sneakers probably started back when I was a young kid, stemming from playing video games and customising the clothing of my virtual characters. I used to imagine that the character that I was dressing up was me, and slowly the love for nice clothes and shoes translated onto my real-life person as well. As for hobbies, I listen to a lot of music. I also hold a Music Degree, which I don’t really make full use of these days.

What's your current favorite pair of sneakers?

The pair that I have not stopped wearing ever since I first got them when they first released are the Nike Air Force 1 Paranoise. The black ones. I wear them everyday and everywhere, so much so that I now own 6 pairs of them just to have a few on standby.

What drew you to this particular pair of sneakers?

Probably because I’m a huge fan of Kpop, and a pair of sneakers made by the King of Kpop was like two of my world’s colliding. I also just think they’re a beautiful pair of shoes. I have never seen an ugly photo of them, they photograph so well.

What’s your personal sneaker collecting philosophy?

There are a few, but probably the biggest one would be to never get hung up about missing a sneaker release. If it’s meant to be, the shoe will find a way into my hands. Even if it takes several years for it to happen. Sneaker collecting is probably 40% luck, 60% timing.

Your dream hype sneaker you wish to acquire but don't have so far.

I’m fortunate enough to already own a lot of the sneakers on my dream list, but the one pair that has alluded me for years now are the Air Jordan 3 Solefly. The timing has just never been right for those, but eventually it will happen!

What’s your day to day style like?

I am mostly all about comfort. Almost my entire wardrobe is just sweaters and sweatpants. I don’t think I own any pants that do not have a drawstring waist.
