Cynthia Lu is no stranger when it comes to weird and wonderful sneakers. After releasing a fully-deconstructed Air VaporMax in 2019 and a totally bedazzled Dunk Low in 2020, the Los Angeles-based creative is now revisiting the basketball silhouette with the Cactus Plant Flea Market x Nike Dunk Low "Grinch" - and it's literally unlike anything that we've ever seen in our many years in the industry. Inspired by the iconic Dr. Seuss character, let's take an official look.
The first thing that you'll notice about the aptly-named "Grinch" is the shaggy exterior that's an explosion of green fur. A design that extends all the way from the toe box to the heel, these probably won't be the best sneakers to rock during the wetter seasons ahead. A Yin-Yang symbol is embroidered across the lateral side of each shoe, and the tongues are stitched with CPFM and Nike branding on the right and left sneakers, respectively. Speaking of which, each tongue actually features a zip pocket where you can store a secret stash. This is a cool feature that has been popping up in a lot of sneakers lately, so we're glad to see it here too.
Underfoot, you'll find an extra chunky midsole that's looks like it's housed within a Nike GRIND rubber unit. This rubber is collected from factory floors during the manufacturing process and recycled and reused, so while The Grinch hates Christmas, he definitely loves the environment. Coming with three extra sets of laces, a premium shoe bag, and packed within a special edition shoebox, this is definitely one for the collectors out there.
A release date has yet to be official revealed for the CPFM x Nike Dunk Flea "Grinch", so stay tuned at Ox Street and we'll let you know as soon as more info comes through.
