There's no doubt in anyone's mind that the New Balance 1906R is one of the most sought after silhouettes of the entire year. Originally released in 2009, the model's aesthetic is unapologetically retro, taking design cues from the '80s and '90s. Since its re-release, the sneakerverse has been blessed with some awesome collaborations and colorways, so for this Trendy Tuesdays, we'll be showing off some of the best ones ever made.

Kicking it all off is the Aimé Leon Dore x New Balance 1906R "Jade." Teddy Santis' first foray into this particular silhouette, it shouldn't come as much of a surprise that this sold out within seconds of releasing back in May. Painted in the New York City label's signature cream and green color scheme, it's equipped with rose gold accents throughout for an even more opulent aesthetic. All of this comes packed in a very special shoebox, complete with an exclusive dustbag to keep your kicks nice and safe.
The New Balance 1906D "Black" is part of the Boston brand's very popular "Protection Pack," and just like the 2002R editions, this one totally flew off the shelves. Delightfully deconstructed, it works on top of a breathable mesh base and is overlaid by jagged suede panels throughout for an artifact-inspired aesthetic. Metallic silver detailing features across the lateral and medial sidewalls, and it's finished off with a matt rubber heel counter around the back.
Part of "The 2022 Downtown Run" collection, the thisisneverthat x New Balance 1906R "Metallic Silver" has specifically been designed to look pre-worn and pre-owned. Featuring a retro-futuristic look, it's very subtly accented with patches of yellow throughout for a very vintage vibe. This old school energy extends towards the midsole underfoot, which has been dipped in a soft, creamy hue.
What's there not to love about the New Balance 1906D "Turtledove"? Another "Protection Pack" release, it features a ballistic mesh base and is covered in jagged suede and leather panels throughout. While this follows the same winning formula as all of the other pairs, this one switches things up by adding an all-black N-ERGY midsole underfoot which is sure to turn heads wherever you go.
Without a shadow of a doubt, the INVINCIBLE x N.HOOLYWOOD x New Balance 1906R "Grey Swan" is the rarest and most exclusive 1906 of all time. Made in collaboration with Taiwan's INVINCIBLE and Japan's N.HOOLYWOOD, it boasts a rugged ripstop nylon construction and is covered in hairy suede throughout for added depth. A bold orange pull tab features on the heel, and it comes with four extra sets of laces so you can make your pair truly your own.
And last but not least, we have the New Balance 1906D "Harbor Grey." Another very special "Protection Pack" pair, if you're a fan of gorgeously gray sneakers then this one should definitely be on your radar. Extremely versatile, make sure you keep it locked at Ox Street for your best chance to secure your size. Seriously, what's there not to love?
