The long awaited CLOT x sacai x Nike LDWaffle ‘Net Orange Blaze’ was recently released on September 14, 2021. Oxstreet Magazine previously wrote about the Japanese fashion label sacai known for their unique hybridization designs and also about the Orange Blaze in our list of top LDWaffle designs to keep a lookout for in anticipation of the release. Now that the sneakers are out, let us take a closer look as well as how it holds up against the all time favorite CLOT x Air Max 1 ‘Kiss of Death’ which inspired the ‘Orange Blaze’ colorway.

Taking inspiration from its popular predecessor the CLOT x Air Max 1 ‘Kiss of Death’, the CLOT x sacai x Nike LDWaffle ‘Net Orange Blaze’ takes it one step further by adding Chitose Abe’s hand into this triple collaboration. The earlier K.O.D. model was originally released in 2006 and reissued in 2021, still fresh in the minds of fans worldwide. The ‘Net Orange Blaze’ however sports a hybrid silhouette that combines elements of the LDV and Waffle Racer to create a stacked look, which is accentuated by the two-tone foam midsoles.

The ‘Net Orange Blaze sports a tan semi-translucent textile upper instead of the usual mesh or nylon base, with tonal suede overlays at the forefoot and heel. The sides feature sacai’s signature double Swoosh with orange snakeskin texture on top of a burgundy leather tick.

The double-stacked nylon tongues come in maroon on top and bright orange, with a bright green tongue tag. Lime green accents are also found on the double-layered eyestays and triple-branded heel tab.

The ‘Net Orange Blaze comes with a stacked two-toned orange and brick red foam midsoles courtesy of sacai’s design, on top of a gum rubber outsole. The LDWaffle is complete with two pairs of white and orange laces for its double lacing system.

The new CLOT x sacai x Nike LDWaffle ‘Net Orange Blaze’ has kept the best elements of the original CLOT x Air Max 1 ‘Kiss of Death’ colorway while giving it surprising fresh new elements by sacai’s iconic ‘cut-and-paste’ design style that really makes the colors pop. Watch the Ox Street team review the ‘Net Orange Blaze’ and compare it with the ‘Kiss of Death’ on our Youtube Channel.

The brightly colored CLOT x sacai x Nike LDWaffle ‘Net Orange Blaze’ comes as the second triple collaboration, after the Fragment Design x sacai x LDV LDWaffle in the more subdued ‘Blue Void’ and ‘Grey’. The Orange Blaze was released September 14, with a retail price tag of $170 USD and is definitely a pair you would want to cop.
