Sneakers were always my passion, and I was the girl who wore dresses and skirts with sneakers when that wasn’t a thing - at least where I lived. The pair that sparked my passion was the Air Jordan 11 “Space Jam”. I liked their design, mostly the lacquered front that gives a fashion vibe.
90’s Hip Hop and R’n’B trend is what resonates with me the most. At that time the best sneakers were worn, and I would single out the Prince of Bel Air TV show. Clothes and shoes which wore on it really spoke to me. Will Smith killed the sneakers game! He mostly wore Air Jordans which is talked about to this day in the sneaker world.
Probably the best feeling for a sneakerhead. Just short of an orgasm, haha!
I love the thrill of unboxing and the moment when I’m putting a new pair in my collection. Wearing that fresh new pair makes me feel powerful and I can’t take my eyes off them. Often, I put the new pair next to my bed so they are the first thing I see when I wake up. Completely bonkers, I know.
My favourite designers are most definitely Vivienne Westwood and Alexander McQueen. I love the revolution they started in the fashion world. I grew up on punk music, so I find myself in Vivienne’s work, while I connect to Alexander through the spirituality of creation.
Out of today’s designers, I would single out Matthew Williams who I came to love through his brand Alyx. I would also like to mention that I have been a lover and follower of the Diesel brand ever since highschool. Its music brought me to it and I mostly buy and wear their stuff.
Collaboration that does not exist yet, but I would like to see it? Definitely Air Jordan and Rihanna! I am a big fan of her music and fashion. When she did a collaboration with Puma, I bought most of them and made a collection that I wear to this day.
I gifted only a pair to my friend, it was not easy to say goodbye, but it made her sooo happy! I love Rihanna’s sense of style and every collaboration she did so far was right up my alley.
Jordan 4 “DIY”, Jordan 1 “Twist”, Jordan 12 “Twist”, and Jordan 1 “Court Lux".
It is very hard to single out just one pair, as soon as I read the first question my first thought was Air Jordan 8 “Valentine’s Day”. That was love at first sight. They look gorgeous and the leather is high quality and eye catching. I’m missing Air Jordan 8’s in my collection, so I really want them.
I would also mention Air Jordan 6 “Millenial Pink” and Air Jordan 14 low “Fortune”. I love everything from Aleali May!
As far as treasured items go, I have a couple of designer pieces in my wardrobe that are really important to me. The most significant is a jacket, designed by a Croatian designer Matija Čop, that I bought at a student fashion fair not knowing that mere years later his clothes would be worn by Lady Gaga and Solange. I am very proud of him and his piece I see as my treasured item.
Another treasure would be a pair of Alyx boots and Alexander McQueen shoes. I love supporting young unknown designers, especially from my homeland. My daily essential is dedicating a couple of hours to myself, mostly by practicing yoga and reading books.
