Penny Hardaway's signature shoe is having one helluva year, and just before 2022 comes to a close Nike has teamed up with Laguna Beach's favorite streetwear imprint for the Stüssy x Nike Air Penny 2 "Black." Giving the classic basketball shoe a contemporary redesign, it's been reworked with lines and grooves that are sure to turn heads wherever you go. You'll also find Shawn Stussy's signature logo scrawled across the lateral sidewall, and a hemp construction that's understated yet unique at the same time.
It's hard to believe that Virgil Abloh passed away over a year ago, but his legacy will continue to live on through releases like the Off-White x Nike Air Terra Forma "White." According to the Beaverton-based brand, this is the Louis Vuitton Menswear Designer's first all-original silhouette with Nike. Boasting over-exaggerated proportions and a show-stopping look, it differs from Abloh's usual deconstructed aesthetic and opts for a bold and beautiful design. While this certainly might not be for everyone, if you're searching for a sneaker that's unlike anything else out there, this might be what you've been looking for all this time.
As we head towards the end of the year, Teddy Santis has another Made in USA colorway up his sleeve with the New Balance 990v3 "Green." Dropping the usual engineered mesh base for a bold green canvas material, it's overlaid by tan pigskin suede for a premium look and feel. If you're still feeling a little festive from the holidays, the New York City-based fashion icon has also added wine red accents across the "N" logo and heel for an Xmas-inspired vibe. All of this sits on top of a charcoal-hued ABZORB midsole that's as comfortable as it gets.
The successor to 2019's legendary "Twist," the aptly-named Air Jordan 1 High OG "Twist 2.0" features that classic gray and black color scheme, and is overlaid with hairy paneling throughout for an exotic aesthetic. A complementary Swoosh shoots through the lateral and medial sidewalls, and you can't talk about these Jordans without mentioning the metallic silver winged basketball emblem that adorns the collar. This coveted colorway is exclusive to the ladies, but that's not going to stop some of you guys from stuffing yourselves into a pair.
And last but not least, we have the Nike Air Max 1 Premium Ugly Duckling "Honeydew." Unbeknownst to many, this special edition colorway actually pays homage to a 2001 Dunk Low collection of the same name. Celebrating the Air Max 1's 35th birthday, it boasts a luxurious suede construction and sits on top of a crisp white Air midsole underfoot. Of course, you can't talk about this AM1 without mentioning the duck graphic that's finely stitched around the heel, nodding to the pack's name.
