What was the moment you first got drawn to sneakers, and which pair of sneakers triggered your passion?

I’ve been into sneakers since high school, where I have different colors of Chuck Taylor. I also own DC and Vans in checkboard and two Hello Kitty designs. Just last year, my husband got into collecting sneakers too. But I never thought that I had more collection than him!

Meanwhile, the first pair that triggered me to cop sneaks again would be my Air Jordan 4 Retro Shimmer. It makes me cop more J4s ever since!

What’s one moment or trend in the history of sneaker culture that resonates with you?

It would be the collaboration of designers and creators, like how Jordan collaborated with Travis, Virgil Abloh, Dior, and Louis Vuitton.

Please describe how it feels to you when you get and wear a new pair of kicks?

When the package arrives, the feeling of excitement is like opening presents on Christmas mornings. It gives me an adrenaline rush that thrills me to unbox and see what’s inside. The first sniff of the new sneakers also feel so good and wearing them also boosts my confidence!

What are some of your favorite creators/designers or brands and why?

A Ma Maniere has some dope Jordan designs that I really love. All their creations are lit! Another favourite would be the Fear of God, their collections are elegant and crisp; yet still slays in street fashion.

What is one sneaker collaboration that doesn’t exist, but you wish/think should exist?

I think a collaboration with our local brands would be great.

What are some of the current pairs of sneakers in your rotation?

I mostly wear my beaters: J1 CMFT Patent Chicago since I work in the hospital then I also need very comfortable shoes. Other pairs would be AJ4 Retro Shimmer, Nike Dunk Championship Navy, AJ1 Mocha, AJ4 Military Black, and Converse x CDG.

I like shoes which go well with my style. I would definitely buy a pair that suits my personality, even though they are not hype sneakers!

What is your ultimate holy grail sneaker that you have not managed to acquire so far?

I have a lot in mind, but for now, I would love to own a pair of Air Jordan 1 Travis Scott Retro High OG Mocha.

Other than kicks, what are some of your daily essentials or treasured items?

My daily essentials are clothes, jewelry, and my cell phone.
