My passion for sneakers began with running shoes. In 2019, I was offered part-time work with Nike and was studying the different technologies in their various models.
I became fascinated after trying the Nike Epic React Flyknit, and this was also around the time I began running consistently. I began purchasing new kicks to improve my runs, using them for various sorts of runs (e.g., tempo, recovery, and so on). I currently have 15 pairs of running shoes.
As I began to explore streetwear and sneakers, I met my fiancée (shoutout to @sighpiebutterflyy), who was also into the sneaker game. We love creating sneaker content and filming together, thus the collection grew alongside our enthusiasm.
I believe the latest Air movie, which documented Nike's historic collaboration with Michael Jordan, nails it. "A shoe is just a shoe until someone steps into it, then it has significance." was a quote that resonated with me strongly.
Anyone can own a pair of Nikes or Jordans. However, how you style it, the experiences you have with the pair, and the journeys that you will take with them are inherent features that no one can duplicate or take away. Everyone has a story to tell about their beloved sneakers. That is what I love about sneaker culture.
Nike Stussy x Air Zoom Spiridon Caged 'Fossil,' Air Jordan 4 Golf 'Bred,' Nike Dunk Low SB 'J-Pack Chicago,' New Balance 2002R 'Protection Pack,' and Air Force 1 'Triple White' are some of my current go-to's.
Getting a new pair of sneakers is a thrilling experience that never gets old. I'm waiting for my Marvel x Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG 'Next Chapter' to arrive in the mail as we speak.
I always try to get a photograph done before wearing them, but some new pairs are still sitting since I haven't found the time to shoot hehe.
I'm a fan of Steph Curry and the Warriors, and I think it's unfortunate that his deal with Nike fell through. However, a Nike x Curry sneakers line would have been fantastic.
Stussy, Carhartt, and Essentials are some of my favorite streetwear brands (apart from Nike/Jordan, obviously) because of their simple and timeless designs.
I've been looking for a pair of Nike Sean Wotherspoon x Air Max 1/97, but my size is hard to come by, so the hunt continues.
I take my Going Places tote bag from goodtotes.co everywhere with me.
