Ever since the NMD was introduced in 2015, it has attracted a pretty awesome roster of collaborators, one of them being Shinsuke Takizawa and his NEIGHBORHOOD imprint. Over the past eight years, the power duo have worked very closely together on a number of collections, but the NEIGHBORHOOD x adidas NMD S1 might just be their most ambitious project yet.
Originally teased via the NBHD founder's Instagram account, official images started showing up just hours later showcasing two drastically different silhouettes. The first NMD features a fully blacked out Primeknit upper with a white zig-zag motif that bears a striking resemblance to their Ultraboost All Terrain from 2019, while the second one opts for a mid-cut boot design with a rugged buckle step which will be particularly popular with gorpcore fans.
Both sneakers sit on top of extra chunky adidas Boost midsoles, complete with technical verbiage printed across the sides of the unit which references the Japanese streetwear imprint's military background. They also come packed in special edition shoeboxes.
The NEIGHBORHOOD x adidas NMD S1 is set to release very soon and will be available right here at Ox Street. Make sure you keep it locked at our dedicated NMD page for your best chance to secure your size, and in related news, atmos recently brought the adidas Adimatic Mid "Collegiate Green"!
